Trustfund Pensions Limited a leading Pension Fund Administrator (PFA) in Nigeria needs a technology enthusiast who will work in our Information Technology (IT) Department as a Team lead Infrastructure.

Job Summary:

The Team Lead, Infrastructure will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and management of the organization’s data center, server infrastructure, backup infrastructure, and cloud environments. The role requires expertise in server administration, storage management, and virtualization, with a strong focus on VMware technologies and cloud platforms. This position ensures high availability, scalability, and security of the IT infrastructure while leading a team of infrastructure engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

Datacenter & Server Administration:

  • Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise-grade data center infrastructure.
  • Oversee the configuration, optimization, and maintenance of physical and virtual servers.
  • Implement best practices for server patch management, backup, and disaster recovery.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal uptime.
  • Manage enterprise storage solutions, including SAN and NAS devices.

Backup Infrastructure Management:

  • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise backup and recovery solutions.
  • Ensure backup infrastructure is optimized for performance, reliability, and security.
  • Develop backup policies, retention schedules, and recovery procedures.
  • Perform regular backup testing and validation to ensure data integrity.
  • Manage backup software, hardware, and cloud-based backup solutions.

Virtualization & Cloud Technologies:

  • Architect and manage VMware virtualization environments, including vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter.
  • Implement and maintain cloud solutions (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) for hybrid infrastructure.
  • Optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, security, and cost efficiency.
  • Deploy and manage automation tools for cloud provisioning and orchestration.

Infrastructure Security & Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with security frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, and industry best practices.
  • Implement access control, monitoring, and encryption for secure infrastructure operations.
  • Collaborate with the cybersecurity team to mitigate infrastructure vulnerabilities and threats.

Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery:

  • Develop and implement business continuity strategies to minimize downtime and ensure service availability.
  • Design and implement disaster recovery (DR) and high-availability (HA) strategies.
  • Conduct regular testing and validation of backup and recovery processes.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for DR policies and procedures.

Capacity Management:

  • Monitor and manage infrastructure capacity to ensure optimal performance and scalability.
  • Plan for future growth by analyzing usage trends and forecasting resource requirements.
  • Optimize resource allocation to prevent overutilization or underutilization of IT assets.
  • Collaborate with finance and procurement teams to ensure timely acquisition of necessary resources.

Team Leadership & Collaboration:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of infrastructure engineers and administrators.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and maintain IT infrastructure solutions.
  • Develop infrastructure roadmaps aligned with business objectives and technology trends.
  • Present infrastructure strategies and recommendations.

Qualification Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • A Master’s degree in IT Infrastructure Management or a related discipline is an advantage.

Professional Certifications:

  • Mandatory: VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, AWS Certified Solutions Architect.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in IT infrastructure management, with a focus on data center operations and virtualization.
  • Extensive experience in managing VMware environments, including vSphere, vSAN.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud solutions (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
  • Proven experience in storage management, backup solutions, and disaster recovery planning.

Technical Skills:

  • Deep knowledge of server operating systems (Windows Server, Linux).
  • Expertise in virtualization technologies, including VMware, Hyper-V, and KVM.
  • Strong understanding of networking, including VLANs, firewalls, and load balancing.
  • Familiarity with enterprise monitoring tools (Nagios, SolarWinds, Splunk, etc.).

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities.
